I recently made 16 of these cards from scraps. I saw a card like this on Pinterest, and am not sure where, as it was one I could remember and not need to save. She used gems on the end of each strip and a bow on the sentiment strip. I used a decorative corner punch for the rounded end and the birds instead of a bow. tfl
I cut 12 x 12 sheets of cs from the books, that I do not like for a card into 4 x 5 1/2 to lay over the top of my cards for mailing. I always have a 1 inch strip left over and these cards are made from some of them. again, tfl

Ah ha, now I see what your pm was all about. I like your idea to upcycle those papers you're not terribly crazy about. Using them in smaller sizes is an ideal way to create a fun and easy card. Love the birds, too. Very cool idea.

These are terrific cards, and this is a great way to use up your scraps Rita. Putting a cover piece in with your cards is also a good idea for using paper that you're not fond of. Especially helpful to protect a card that has a little dimension to it.
I'm going to look at my scraps and see if I can do a "mix & match" to make similar cards as I don't have a lot of these nifty 1" matching pieces.

Those one inch strips all of a sudden become like GOLD, when you can use them up like this and make a ton of cards very simply! Thanks for the wonderful tip, Rita!!
