This weeks challenge was to make some kind of toy that reminds you of your childhood. We were also encourage to tell about a dream that came true.
My first marriage was with a very abusive spouse in every way. I left, raised my daughter by myself. My dream was always to have a loving and faith based marriage. In 1993 my daughter went off to college, I lost over 100 lbs, stop smoking and got myself healthy. Then in 1996 I met DH. We married in 1999. I will have to say, I finally found the loving relationship I was dreaming of.

What a fantastic happy ending to your story!!! So glad you found Mr. Right who treats you right. We all deserve it! Big hugs and super cute sock monkey card.
Wow...that's quite the story. You must be a very strong person to have been able to leave such a bad situation...and a great example to your daughter. Dreams do come true!

Sweet story!!!! Glad all fell into place for you---sounded sorta like my childhood. Your sock monkey reminds of the ones use to make for my kids. Great card.

Cute card! GREAT story! I'm happy your dreams came true! And I congratulate you on your weight loss and stopping smoking....it's not easy (I also lost almost that much weight)...a big accomplishment and an investment in yourself.

Oh Ruthie, what a great story. My mother left her first husband, who was alcoholic. Thank you for sharing, you certainly get extra cookies (and these ones, you don't need to worry about calories!!). The little monkey is sweet - reminds me of two felt Christmas tree ones I have, which a friend sent me. And the verse is a very true one - altogether a great card for the challenge.

I am so sorry you had to go through an abusive relationship -- I know a little bit about that myself, having gone through it. I am so so happy to hear that you are on a better path in life with a good man and good health!! Praise the Lord! -- And your monkey is so cute!!
