I love when I can do something in 1 minute that gets a 5 minute WOW from the recipient. This lovely envelope seemed like just the inspiration I needed today: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/387591111661395784/
The background stamp I used did all the work for me, since it's naturally shaped for that opening on the right. So, I'm sure this envelope will be noticed (I also plan to use the design for a friend, but their address is a secret - smiles). In case you didn't know, mail carriers are used to handling modern calligraphy envelopes which can be MUCH more complex than this one, and they still arrive safely and accurately at their destinations. So go for it! Be artsy with your envelopes! A suggestion I got from a mailman: Sure we don't mind fancy envelopes, but just remember to include all the address components (street address, city, state etc....and don't space the zip code out too much - keep the zip code clearly together), and increase the postage as needed (for shapes or designs that can't run through the machine due to bulk).
FYI: My return address would be added in small font to the left of the floral design on the back flap (front of envelope and flap shown above)...so I'd probably move the back flap floral just a tiny bit more to the right if I were handwriting it (I have stickers with my return address, so that space is perfect in my case). I only had Charlie Brown stamps....so I apologize that it doesn't go with the design at all - LOL!
Won't you join us and take the envelope challenge too!
Hugs,
Audrie

Audrie, this is wonderful.....the envelope is similar to the gift package....it's all in the presentation. When we take the time to make a special card, it deserves a special package too. This is a perfect sample of presentation.....beautifully done, and the added personal calligraphy is spectacular. TFS

I love how you did both the front and back. Corner garden stamp from SU works great for decorating an envelope. Black on Kraft is a winning combination.

What a difference to open a card with an envelope like this opposed to a plain one! It put a smile on my face and I'm sure it will make the recipient & mailman smile too, Audrie!
I'm stoked that you chose my card to put onto your pinterest board! Thank you so much, Audrie! I had so much fun I ended up making another card too!

This is gorgeous I love your wonderful calligraphy and thank you so much for thinking about this challenge. You are correct about the postal workers. Every time Mr Noofy takes letters to the post office they always comment on the decorations on the envelope!
