Sorry I am late to the teaparty for Dolores, cousin of our dearly loved Teapotter, Mary.
These days I get a bit rattled for ideas when it is appropriate to make a normal card. I seem a bit stuck on weirdo arty stuff, in particular weird birds.
I bought a digi cat and tried colouring it. Five attempts later I have given up. My cat colouring looks like a cross between a fox and a drowned rat. Plan B...bring in a bird.
Anyone who knows my cards will know for sure that I did NOT colour the beautiful flowers, but I did add some metalic green leaves and little flowers.
The big bird was made with a Martha Stewart punch - I wish I had a dollar for every Martha Stewart punch that no longer works...I would have $8 !!!!!
I had better get this uploaded and mailed before it is time for next weeks Teaparty. Thank you for looking.

Oh, so pretty - looks like this punch works fine. I like that textured bird and the beautiful floral cascade.
You mean I am not the only one who has problems with MS punches? I have several that are excellent dust collectors - they just do not seem to release.

What you have done with the great DP, the punches (that still work!) the twine and the die cut birdcage is nothing short of amazing, dear Susie!
A shame (for the cat) the coloring of your cats did not work out, but I LOVE what you did with the bird, and cage with the flowers - tremendous!!

We can curse Martha Stewart punches together...my punch for those little flowers on your card just broke last week. Your "non weirdo" card is lovely. Everything is perfectly placed and designed beautifully. Just gorgeous.

Susie, Susie, Susie, you silly woman! So the cat didn't work out. That's okay. I don't care for cats so I'm delighted to see what you brought to this challenge. The bird cage is delightful ... and so normal for you. Just kidding. The recipient will love this I'm certain.

Wow, sure looks like the bird punch worked okay here and your background just pops, who does not like birds anyway, and darling cage for your bird. Dee Dee, short for Dolores will love your card esp. a Susie original. Super sweet card.

I kept looking for the cat..as if it were hidden somewhere within that dp..or perhaps it was a reversal of the old " the cat that ate the canary" and the bird had eaten the cat?? I'm glad to know my eyes aren't deceiving me and that there's no cat to be found. Wonderful card btw

Beautiful use of the DP, Susie; it's a perfect setting for the cage and sweet bird - I love the flower cut out of it. And the tiny white flowers and greenery are a lovely addition - I imagine that they are something really sweetly scented like gardenia, and they look as if they were growing out of the paper.
