Lisa (Shoe Girl) had me scrabbling for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge, to be inspired by Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra.
The hieroglyphic paper has been in my stash forever -- it's from a grab bag of papers I bought from Club Stamp/Scrap ages ago. Turns out I have 4 pieces (2 red, two this color) that had never been cut -- guess I need a few more Cleopatra challenges.
The image is an Inkadinkadoo one I don't think I've ever used before. Yes, I think that scene looks more Greek than Egyptian, but it was the closest I had. And it did remind me a little of the scene with all the women at the start of the video Lisa linked to.
I always think of blue and gold when I think of ancient Egypt, so I brought those colors in through the embellishments.

Sandy, the way you have used the gems with the gold cording is so cool! I thought of those blues, too, as being very typical. Looks like you had the perfect paper. Greek or not, the ladies certainly look of the right period. For sure they could be Roman, contemporaries of Mark Anthony or Julius Caesar.

Oh my Sandy this is amazing! First you used a paper that has been in your stash and never cut...(we all have them) then you used a stamp that may never have been inked...(we all have those too) yet they work so brilliantly on this amazing card! And you met the challenge so perfectly too with the elegance of these ladies (as I figured some might go with the elegance part of the movie...I just thought Elizabeth Taylor was so elegant and stunning and the ladies in that movie were too). Beautifully done and perfect addition with the added gems and gold cording. You are going to send one teapotter an amazing card. Thank you for making a card inspired by my aunt's Cleopatra teapot.

Never throw away you paper--I have even gone so far as to copy them as never know if ever find again. Great card and gold cords to be used with your gems---made it elegant looking.

Love your card! The bg paper is perfect, and that's a great image. And since dear old Cleo was of Greek origin, it's perfectly fitting!
