Cathy's challenge this week...ombre. When purchasing a new water color pencil, I will take it and color layers of it to see the different intensity it will give me. This is how the bg was made. Taking the brush, make a curvy design. The first curve has one time coverage of the pencil. The next curve would have it colored with two layers, and so on for all the layers. The last layer had been colored five times. I scribble the pencil on a scrap piece of paper, and pick up the color . You do let it dry between each coat of painting. Sponged the rest of the card, and added the sentiment. TFL

Thank you so much for providing the details on how you achieved your colors. This is a fantastic take on the challenge and provides very much needed details on how we can all achieve the wonderful color saturation. Beautifully done Linda!

Thank you for the description, Linda. This is something I need to make time to do with my Inktense pencils. OK, maybe not to such a pretty effect as this!! I love the soft watercolour look of this.
When I worked in fine-art supplies import and distribution, as well as the printed tint cards for the various paints, there were also a few hand-made ones with genuine colour swatches. I know I came across one from watercolour recently and brought it upstairs thinking I could surely use them for something. Even something meant to be purely functional was a thing of beauty to me.

Linda what a great idea to use different intensities of the same colored pencil. This is AMAZING!! Love how you designed it with the scalloped edge. Gorgeous card!!
