I thought I'd try out Dina's tutorial for Faux Tin Tiles, and since they are full of texture, I went on to use a few other mediums and made another card for this week's Mix-Ability challenge ~ MIX119 Texture.
I used cream acrylic paint, getting to that stage in the process last night. Today I sanded it down a bit and also used some Sansodor to rub some of the paint off, then I rubbed in some luster rub-ons.
I was looking for some white-core card and came across this old piece of DCWV, which was a good colour to go with the cream paint I'd used. I used the same ef and then sanded it and sponged the edges.
Poppy cut from watercolour paper and coloured with Inktense pencils.
Bamboo cut from regular white card, buffed with green luster rub-on and then sprayed with fixative. I cut the butterfly from a spare piece of the foil-coated card, rubbed with black luster rub-on and then embossed with Iridescent Ice. I added pearls to both the sentiment and the butterfly.

WOW Sabrina do I ever love this!! I've been wanting to try this technique. Yours turned out GREAT...I love that you did two panels of the same ef but different colors. The smaller panel really has an antique-y look to it but.I also love the ceam-yellow piece. Beautiful card!!

Without reading your description first, I thought "This looks like a beautiful distressed vintage tin." I didn't even realize this was a technique circulating around, and I do try to stay current. I'll have to go check it out.
Love the texture, love the pastel feel. Very pretty, Cook22.
