 | | This is for Jenn's fun TLC challenge, to use the negative and positive of a die cut.
I keep forgetting that I have these great feather dies - I have lots of feather stamps that I stamp and fussy cut. Note to self....remember what I own!!
The background was done with the smack & squirt technique (smack distress ink onto aluminium foil, squirt on a lot of water and scrub onto cardstock using a foam blending tool).
This started out with two different green inks at the bottom and two blue distress inks on the rest...I didn't like it so I added a bit of orange to the centre, followed by purple then red. Basically I smacked, squirted and sponged on ink until I was happy. I flicked a bit of water on the card and let it air dry (not blotted like I usually do).
Next step was to put the cardstock and two feather dies on a cutting plate and run it through my Vagabond. My cutting plates are very scratchy and this showed up on the card so I used my crackle stamp to add another scratch element.
I swiped a silver ink pad around the edges of the feathers and around the negative space. I adhered the cardstock to a kraft card base then adhered the small feather in the centre of the large feather negative space and the large feather offset over the small negative space.
I added a couple of purchased flowers and raffia for a bit of contrast. I had heaps of fun making this. Thank you for looking and have a great week. |
