My third of four cards for the April Christmas card challenge to fussy cut Christmas florals. Sorry, no fussy cutting on this one.
I used Distress markers to color my stamp, misted it with water and stamped the image onto watercolor paper. I used a small paint brush to blend the ink a little better in areas where it was a little splotchy. I was going to add some color to the background, but I really like the clean look of this.
After it dried, I placed it in the Misti to stamp the sentiment. I'm so glad I did, it tool three tries to get it this good. It could be better, but I decided I would quit while I was ahead. It's very difficult to get a crisp image with skinny stamps on watercolor paper, even the smooth side.
You can see the rest of what I did to create the card. What you can't see if the clear Wink of Stella that I added to the petals, and the sparkly stripes in the thin strip behind the focal.
As always, thanks for ;looking!

I love that image and the different ways you use it! It's definitely on my must have list! What a fantastic look with watercolor! The stitched rectangles are beautiful with this too! Another fabulous card!

Love all 4 of your poinsettia cards! Great watercolour effect on this one! You were smart to keep it clean without any colour on the background - makes your flowers really stand out.

Jody, you achieved such a beautiful watercolored look with your markers and misting. It takes skillful application of just the right colors on the stamp. You were dealing with complementary colors that can produce "mud" when they mix wet-in-wet....and you have none of that.

It is hard to decide which I like better...this or the one embossed in gold! I think it is a toss up...both so lovely in their own way. I love water color and this is just SO gorgeous and beautifully designed! I can only imagine how awesome IRL this is with the Wink of Stella on the leaves and stripes. GREAT job!
