 | | This is for the Another Year In The Books challenge. I spent 2 hours just trying to figure out how to make a card that represents my favorite childhood book, Old Yeller. It's a sad story and I didn't want a card that represents sadness, so I finally decided to look for a cartoon dog and make a happy/love card. Old yeller was the first sad book I ever read (I was about 10) and I was a little angry that my teacher had suggested it - but what a wonderful story! Some years later I began reading it to my niece and nephews. They are just 8 years younger than me. What makes this book so very special is that to this day they still mention cuddling together on the couch each night while I read this to them. Now, while the pup on this card doesn't exactly represent the story, it does represent a wonderful loving memory, shared with my niece and nephews. This looks more like 101 Dalmatians. I fussy cut the puppy and mounted it on red with a double heart cut from Cuttlebug/Love Language. The side panel is cut from IO/Square Cutout and matted using SB/Card Creator. |
