For the last challenge of this year's HYCCT we were to be inspired by a favorite childhood book. My favorite was one of those little Golden books and it was A Child's Garden of Verse by Robert Louis Stevenson. The pictures in the book were darling and inspired a lot of daydreaming, at least on my part. My favorite poem was one called The Swing...you may know it..."How do you like to go up in a swing, up in the air so blue? Oh, I do think it is the pleasantest thing ever a child can do!" I had the whole poem memorized and can still recite it. I thought this image evokes the playful and carefree nature of that poem.

Polly I knew just what you were illustrating from the thumbnail! I love RLStephenson; we had a really vintage book of those poems and I loved them too. Yellow was a great choice to go with the b/w!

This is just fabulous! I love how cheerful and happy your card is!

Fabulous final card, Polly. That is one of my favorite digital images and it is perfect for your story. Love the wonderful frame around the image and such a delightful message. You nailed this one.

Oh, the wonderful memories you bring back, Polly. I would get a Golden book(25 cents) every time I would walk to town with my mother to pay utility bills(don't think there were checking accts then, let alone charge cards!) I love that book too and the beautiful illustrations that went with each poem. Your card brings all that back with the beautiful design and the charming silhouette.
