This is Toni's fun Ways to Use It challenge - Denim Delight.
I started by stamping Heidi with Archival Ink, then masked her (mask made by fussy cutting the acetate packaging that already has the image stamped on it). I applied some removable tape to the mask so it wouldn't move when doing the background.
The background was done with the smack and squirt technique (smack distress ink pad onto a sheet of aluminium foil, squirt lots of water on it). I bought some Ranger round sponges, I just use them on the normal rectangle blending tool - makes no difference.
I did the green first then the blue. I left gaps on the card when appling the blue distress ink so it would look like clouds.
Using Black Soot distress, stamp garden and sentiment. Remove mask. With red distress ink and aqua pen, colour Heidi's sleeves and stockings. Copics were used for face.
make a pleated ruffle using seam binding and double sided tape. Stamp the image again onto denim patterned paper, fussy cut and stick onto her body.
Pockets were added with 3D foam tape. Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

Your attention to detail is amazing, right down to the ruffled slip, 3D pockets and impeccable fussy cutting! I found it next to impossible to do a background with a mask on the image and not get that white ghostly edge but you did yours perfectly! Your background is perfect for her and beautifully done!

Oh Susie, I love your sweet girl. i just love reading your descriptions, I learn something all the time from you. I have never tried the "smack and squirt technique" but I certainly will the next time I make a scene. Paper Scene that is. Love the pockets on the denim skirt. SO cute!
