WT497 Nontraditional holiday card
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: f.schles

When I make a lot of cards in one week, it means only one thing....my BFF, Dolly the insomniac dog is having more sleeping problems than usual. My cards originate in one of 2 ways. Either I can't fall asleep because I am doing a virtual job of making the card in my head, or, I don't have a clue what the next step is until it is done. This is a "don't have a clue card". I liked the circle image and colored it 3x's in the CC496 colors. I thought I was going to "hang" them with ribbon across the card like Christmas ornaments. After fussy cutting them they just did not look like ornaments. I cut and pasted CC paper in the SC506 layout. I masked the rest of the SU sentiment and just stamped "merry wishes". At this point I realized I was making a holidy card. After die cutting the label and gluing down the 3 circles I was stuck. Searched through my "junk box" and found these flowers that I made months ago...they are stamped on printed paper, die cut, sponged with ink and teal inka gold rub is added to the edges.added some flourishes, ribbon, punched white leaves and pearls. Tfl, Francie

I LOVE it! Nothing more appealing to me than a nontraditional card in these gorgeous colors! I love the creativity involved and "thinking outside the box." This is the type of design I only dream of creating! Your had made flowers are beautifully done!

Your crafting process of this card was amazing to read about! I am glad I am not the only one where sometimes I start out in one direction and end up somewhere else! This is a fascinating nontraditional holiday card! Your petaled circles against the dp (AND the centers of the circles) is sooo cool! Love the added flourishes and hand made flowers... what a GREAT card!

I like your phrase about making a virtual card in your head -- I do that all the time. All your elements work together really well, no matter what their origin was -- I really like the wayou you handled the sentiment.
