Got daring today and wanted to tried this mixed media technique to honor Dina as this week's Queen! This was my second attempt!
Dina is so generous with her time and talents and is always coming up with so many different techniques to teach us with her wonderful tutorials and videos, and even takes the time to leave encouraging comments to spur us on to do new things.
After I embossed the Woodgrain BG on my paper, I dripped the acrylic paints all over and scraped the paint across the cardstock with my old drivers license to create the background - just went with the colors I used on the BG to find some scraps and an image and sentiment to finish the card - and kind of fun to do something with mixed media. I left it rather CAS, so the technique takes the spotlight, except for adding a couple of washers on the twine.
Thanks for looking - and thanks to Dina for the great new to me technique. I hope you enjoy your reign this week, for you surely deserve it.

Oh Sue, this makes me so proud! I love seeing this technique really work, and the wood grain is so perfect - great colors too, just like worn wood paneling. Sometimes with the finer line backgrounds the effect is harder to see. The lighter stamped image behind the sentiment is perfection. Thank you for thinking of me!
