CAS285 unexpected roses
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: f.schles

This was going to be a quick card for the CAS285 challenge. Thanks to the sweetest PM from one of the nicest people I know, Becky, I was reminded about a technique that I have only tried a few times...one syroke painting. Things were going just fine and I was almost done with my roses and leaves, when the elbow incident hsppened. In addition to my elbow, it also involved lavender paint (" lavender? You ask. She wasn't even using lavender. I have been asking myself the same question). Well, this resulted in having to fussy cut the roses and attach them to a new card. In normal situstions, I would not combine one stroke painting and fussy cutting. Then I watercolored the bkg because the roses just didn't look right fussy cut. I also added some shading with prisma pencils...how is that for a weird combination- acrylics, water color and prisma pencils. I stamped the word "love" and drew a border and stopped before I made any more goofs. Some say that necessity is the mother of invention. I would and that blobs, smudges and spills are the mother of creativity. TFL, Francie

Beautiful stroke painting....and I don't see any evidence of any "accident". Really a lovely card. Your floral bouquet looks spectacular.

This is absolutely marvelous! Your one-stroke is perfection and I love the idea of fussy cutting the roses and leaves. The addition of the pearly dots is the icing on the cake! I really like the combination of all the colouring elements you used. Remember... 'There are NO mistakes...just creative opportunities'!!!!!

Francie, this is one wonderful accident. My gracious this is gorgeous. The colors are wonderful. And the little pearls are the perfect touch. A beautiful creation.

Painting (of any sort) is something I never learned and love the look of. Your flowers are so lovely, Francie. I can see from the side views and leaf shape that they are roses, but the open blossoms would make great camellias too, they are so like the ones in my aunt's garden. I'm sorry for you that you ended up having to take extra time to fussy-cut them, but I think they look great like that. The watercoloured background with doodles is just lovely. I'm all for mixing media when it gives you such a gorgeous end result.
Favourited .
