 | | This week's Technique Lover's Challenge is to use Audrie's great tutorial on stamping with an embossing folder. I've been wanting to try this since I saw a bunch of Karen Dunbrook's cards using it so the challenge was the push I needed.
I used a star ef with two shades of Distress inks. My first couple of attempts were a disaster as I spritzed with way too much water. But I'm happy with this attempt. My original plan was just to leave it with the sentiment but I felt it needed a bit more so I die cut some stars out of copper cs to match the cardbase and scattered them above the sentiment.
The sentiment is heat embossed on vellum. I cut the vellum strip longer than the watercolour layer so that I could fold the vellum under and tape it in the back so the tape wouldn't show. I love the quote by Coleridge - I think you can read it in the photo but if not, let me know and I'll type it out here.
I take part in the SCS Christmas Card Challenge so will be posting this one in the July thread as the challenge for that month is stars. |
