This is a card I made for an online card class I'm participating in. The focus of the class is one layer cards. This lesson demonstrated using masking and sponging to create a plaid background. By changing colors and the sentiment, you can create a card for virtually any occasion.
I chose these colors because I never have any masculine cards, and I thought I would make a birthday card. When I started trying to place my sentiment, I realized the stamps I had weren't bold enough to show as well as I would like against the darker brown. I went for Thanksgiving instead, using a mix of copper and antique gold embossing powder.
This was a fun technique, you could play with it for hours (I did), adding stripes here and there. I am planning another one for Easter...
As always, thanks for looking!

The more I see the more I think I should sign up! This is fabulous and I'll admit, that awesome plaid technique has my curiosity! I can see how this would be SO fun to experiment with.
