This is my solution to the tons of ribbon I had but could not control. I bought these larger size snap tight containers and put a piece of that stuff they make that keeps rugs from slipping on the bottom (to keep the ribbon from slipping around). Then I bought a ton of those little plastic cards that they sell to put embroidery thread on and rolled my ribbon onto them. They are about 1 inch wide (in the center) so most ribbon fits on them. The wider ribbon I just cut a wider piece of card board and roll it on. Then I put little rubber bands around them. There are at least 300 rolls of ribbon wound on to these and now they cannot escape! Much smaller footprint, too.

I do the same type of thing only I use the plastic 3 drawer bins to house them in ROYGBIV order. This is my most space saving area in my craft room. I thank Bekka Feeken for sharing her idea years ago. This is just the best way to tame all of the ribbon.
