At 45, I have no business playing with something I associate with kids in giant jeans, black hair and piercings, who cry a lot. I guess. I first heard the word 'Emo' a couple years ago and thought they were saying 'Elmo'. I had a FIT trying to figure out in what way these strange kids channeled a puppet. When someone told me it meant 'Emotional' or some &%&* like that, I was disappointed. I liked the Elmo link so much better but...oh well. Anyway, I liked this project! My first as a DT member for Through the Purple Haze. I went with 'decor' as opposed to a card but here's what I did:
After coloring the image with Copics, I cut her out with a Spellbinders frame from the Radiant Rectangles set. I used hot pink metallic paper and embossed, then attached the image using mounting tape. I used silver glimmer paper, cut with another frame from the set, and used mounting tape to attach that to the back. I cut an identical piece of vanilla cardstock from Stampin' Up! and used my ATG to adhere it to the back of the glimmer paper. At that point, I could have used it for a card and stamped and written on the back, but I wanted it to be a piece of decor, so I stuck the small easel on the back and added some small paper flowers on the front. The image and frame are so gorgeous, I wanted to be careful not to overdo it.

This is a lovely riot of contrasts! I love that you did that Victorian-esque frame in the shiny hot pink and then added those roses. It really sets off your anime gal in a most fun way!

Thanks for clearing that up, I thought Emo was Elmo's girlfriend. Now about your card....super cute, great layout and your colouring is fantastic Carmen.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA....oh Susie...you and I would have a BLAST at one of the open mike nights at the comedy clubs! And if we s*ck, there are thousands of other ones just WAITING for US!! Robin, you angel! I've missed browsing your gallery...I'm going there right after this...you have my word! Rachel!! I'm heading to yours as well! TY for saying that! I've always loved Victorian Era design but thought the colors WAY too drab! No wonder Art Deco and the Jazz Age happened when it did...it HAD to!
