This is another project for Sheri's HYCCT 1324 challenge - to cover something up: a plain spiral notebook, legal pad, composition book etc. and turn it into something pretty.
This is one of those promo giveaways and sturdy enough to take the mixed media abuse, of which it got plenty. I gessoed, tore paper and gessoed, stenciled modeling paste, sponged various pink, orange and yellow shades of acrylic/Distress paints, some mixed with iridescent medium. Inked the hexagon stencil w/Black Stazon and sponged a little more after it dried. The sentiment was stamped on Shrinky Dink film with Red Stazon cut out and cooked. I'm glad it looks kinda cloud-shaped because my "dries clear" adhesive didn't, but that's okay. I added the key, the black velvety butterfly and a few Dazzles glitter dots. The back is a lot more plain, with just a couple of stamped hearts. It extends on the right side with an elastic loop to hold a pen, which I painted gold, but the pictures showing that didn't turn out so well.
I have no idea what wild hair possessed me to do this - but I'm glad I did, because I love how it turned out!
As always, thanks for looking!
