I was away on vacation so missed the Queen for the Day challenge honouring Cindy (aka frenziedstamper) so am late in entering this card. But I love so many of Cindy's cards so had to CASE one. I chose this one:
I loved her white poppies against the bright coloured background so wanted to keep that part of it, but changed the orientation and colour scheme, and used an embossing folder and Nesties label cutout for the framing.
Instead of using dp for the background as Cindy did, I made my own background with stencils, Distress stains, and shimmer spray on watercolour paper. The shimmer spray made the Distress stains run so the lines of the stencil designs are blurred - not what I intended but I like the mottled effect I ended up with. To go with the shimmer spray, I used white shimmer cs for the poppies, framing layer, and cardbase.

Awesome!! The blue is so pretty against the white poppies and the fancy window die cut is like a sneak peek into a secret garden! Love how you made your own DP background with ink, sprays & stencils, so clever! I'm honored by your lovely card, thank you!!
