To get the faux leather look, cover a piece of cardstock with torn strips or pieces of masking tape. Trim the edges. Brayer Versamark ink over the masking tape. Sprinkle embossing powder over the masking tape and heat emboss. You may need to add another layer of embossing powder.
Monoadhesive does not work great to layer something on top of the embossed area. Use eyelets, brads or glue dots.
