In yet another Online Card Classes Summer Camp 2 assignment, I tried a technique thatÂ’s new to me: creating circles out of folded patterned paper.
Per the instructorÂ’s example, I punched eight circles (two of each pattern) roughly 1.75″ in diameter. I folded over each circle first in half and then in half again, slightly offset. I used Tombow Mono Multiglue to adhere the layers together. Then I formed two circles out of the folded squares and adhered them to a white piece of rectangular card stock that was slightly larger.
Next I adhered a different, lighter colored patterned paper to the front of a white card stock base, 4.25″ x 5.5″. To that I adhered the white rectangle with the circles, slightly off-center at an angle. Then I chose another patterned paper for the ends of the card front; I adhered those to the sides and trimmed the edges with scissors. All my patterned paper came from a 6″ x 6″ paper pad from My MindÂ’s Eye, Happy Day. I love the bright colors!
I stamped two sentiments from Hero Arts, “Friends” and “thanks for being my friend,” above and below the white rectangle. As a final touch, I covered three small wood hearts from Studio Calico with white enamel accents from Ranger. I placed two in the center of the circles and the larger one in the bottom corner.
ItÂ’s a lot of patterns on one card, but I think itÂ’s fun, perfect for a friend. What do you think?
