OK, the mixed media challenge push me to my limit everytime, and this one pushed me over the edge. I tend to like neat, crisp, clean looks, so the thought of unfinished almost sent me into a panic attack. I don't like looking at what other people do for the mix media before I start because I don't want to copy them, I want to find the mixed media artist within myself. So I haven't yet had a chance to see anyone's work other than the four examples under the description. I decided to listen to music for my inspiration. I was thinking music... unfinished symphony... so that is the direction that I took. I smashed wildflowers, chickpeas and chicory onto white cardstock. I embossed the bottom paper with music notes. I then embossed the top paper with the same music folder, but I didn't finish running it through the cuttlebug leaving the bottom UNFINISHED. I gave the top paper a torn unfinished edge that I sponged to bring out the rough edge. I usually stamp my images all the way on the paper, but for the music, I stamped the music flourish from Butterfly Symphonymaking the stamp go off the edges of the paper. I stamped the chicory flowers and only finished fussy cutting on one side. I tore the other side and sponged the edge. I left the burlap with an unfinished edge. I used two different stitches while sewing. Every few stitches I would switch between zig zag and straight. I didn't finish sewing along the torn edge of the top paper. The last unfinished part on my card was the butterfly. I made it for a card yesterday and left it sitting on my desk not used. (I may be stretching the unfinished part a little bit here.)

Lots of unfinished elements here combine for a terrific card! I love how you created the color on the white cardstock - very creative!
