Sharon's Inspiration Challenge was to do a page inspired by the Olympics. This is the left side of a dps.
I took this challenge literally, since a few years ago we visited Lake Placid, the home of the 1980 Winter Olympics. This trip was especially memorable for me, as my family actually attended those Olympics back in 1980! It was an unforgettable experience then, and our return visit brought back some of the greatest memories I have!
I have two more pages in the works, but I stopped production while I tried to get a few of the Summer VSBN challenges done.
Journaling: "The next morning, it was foggy and rainy out. We were happy we had picked that day to visit the indoor practice skating rink and the arena that housed the hockey and figure skating events for the 1980 Olympics. We took a guided tour which brought us back to the historic night that the U.S. hockey team beat the Russians. We viewed a video of that memorable night and then our guide showed us some other interesting featrures of the rink. It was esecially fun for me, because I was in Lake Placid that night in 1980 when the U.S. hockey team won. We didnÂ’t have tickets for the game, but we watched it on TV in a local tavern. After the U.S. won, everyone in town flooded the streets hooting & hollering and pouring champagne over each otherÂ’s heads. It was a day IÂ’ll never forget, and it was neat to relive it a little on this visit!"
