This is my entry for the CAS183 Challenge - A Sketch by Tenia Sanders-Nelson. I'm also entering this card into the Central Theme: CT0812 - Neighborhood
Fall moves always bring a new family into a neighborhood. Let's welcome them with open arms.
Ah, September, how we love you. You beckon the fall, remind us of pumpkin pie, mums, and leaves that swirl and dance with the tiniest of snowflakes. Oh wait, it also signals family moves! Just ask any military family (smiling). I remember one such move. Our tiny Volkswagon blew a clutch in the mountains one fall day. A cross-country trip to the next duty station would now be delayed. Not to worry -- around the bend came a flat bed tow truck to ferry us to the nearest town. My motherly eye surveyed the area with the keen vision of an eagle. I spy a lack of seating room in the cab of the truck - where will my little brood sit? Why in the car of course!
Family of four inside a Volkswagon Bug,
On top of a flat bed truck,
Racing down the mountain road,
Seriously!
As my children squealed with delight, I vaguely remember the words spoken by the tow truck driver, "Life's a journey my friend, enjoy the ride!"
My focal image (the packed boxes) was small and because of that I chose to place it higher on the slanted panel. I also added an extra image below. I have kept to the sketch other than that. The card is balanced and still allows for a nice clean appearance.
Thank you for taking a peek. Thank you to all the SCS stampers who went to my blog while I was gone and left sweet comments regarding our new grandson, Teddy. I'm slowly getting back into my routine after being gone for a month.
Hugs,
Susie ~

Aw, super cute and brings back memories for me as well. Only my transfers would be in the beginning of the summer usually.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful memories (even if at the time, not so wonderful)! LOVE your take on the sketch! That little VW is adorable! That really is the perfect sentiment too! Awesome card!

Susie, a darling card for all challenges. Cute images and great DP to welcome neighbors who have just moved in....or moving on, whatever the case might be.
