This is a wedding card for a mid-life couple who married outdoors in non-traditional wedding. It is also my first attempt at embossing resist (see tutorial in SCS resources section).
Some things I learned: 1) I should have used heavier cardstock. I made a second one WITH better cardstock, but I didn't like the way the image turned out nearly as well as this one. 2) This should probably be done with dye ink, rather than pigment and chalk ink. Dye ink would dry much faster, but most of my ink is Colorbox (pigment and chalk). 3) Don't use Elmers removable double sided tape to hold down your scrap paper for masking on lighter cardstock: it wasn't quite as removable as I'd hoped and took some of the cardstock with it when I removed it.
Oh--most tutorials I have seen on this technique suggest CLEAR embossing powder, but when I tried it on a scrap first, it didn't show up well. Maybe it's because I used pigment ink instead of dye? Anyway, that's why I went with white embossing powder (which I couldn't get all the ink off of after buffing, but I still like the effect).
I toyed with adding twine or brads, but after trying temporary placement of both, decided that I liked the simplicity of no embellishments. What do you think--should I have added some?
Thanks for looking. I know this was a long description, but I hope if you try this technique that listing some of my mistakes will help.

Judy, absolutely Stunning! I would not add anything more. Your friends will Cherish their wedding card.
BTW, My fav. CS for EB Resist is SU Whisper White. Ink favorites.. Versamark (clear pigment ink) and white EB powder. Then I sponge on my classic (dye) inks starting light and going darker.
I use post it notes for masking. Always comes off with out tearing.
Hope that helps. Your card is really, really gorgeous. TFS Into my favs. my friend...

For all the apologizing you did for this card, it turned out absolutely beautiful! I love the whole thing --- colors, embossing, the extra stalk of wheat outside your masked area --- everything. Really a nice job; it's lovely.

No apologies needed for this, but thanks for sharing what you learned making it. It is, after all is said and done, a fabulous card. I love the subtle color variations and the one card-high image at the right end. I think you were absolutely right to leave it unembellished. It needs nothing else.

I love your card! I too sometimes have a card curl. If after heating the backside of the curled paper, if it doesn't straighten, then I'll cut it down to a layering piece (say a 3 3/4 x 5) and place a coordinating color layer under it and attach all layers with score-tape. With enough tape the top layer almost always comes out flat. In this case, I'd trim from the right if you have enough room from the edge of the word. But, your card is beautiful as is and I'm sure the happy couple loved it as well!
