My mother is my hero. She has been through early widowhood, pain issues, knee and hip replacements, three different cancers, and Alzheimer's. All through this journey, she has exhibited cheerfulness and serenity. This is a Mother's Day card for her.
Since I have a lot of vintage ephemera, I did reverse inspiration. I looked through my stuff, chose what I wanted and then found something on this site that was similar. It was very easy to do. I did love all the vintage looking Christmas cards and art but all my Christmas stuff is in storage. http://www.victoriantradingco.com/st...1a/i19878.html
I used a vintage card that was given to my grandmother in law for school merit, probably in the early 20th century. My mother doesn't always remember much from the past, much less the present, but she does talk about her school days. I thought this was a good time to try that faux patina technique; I love it! I kept the card simple, not adding a lot except for a vintage mother of pearl buckle and some ribbons. I'll add a sentiment inside when I figure out what I want to say.

Oh look! We chose the same image! This little girl gets around!!! But seriously, your card is amazing!!! The faux patina is gorgeous and your image from the card is so lovely. I especially like how you die cut it and raised it up. Now you may say you kept it simple, but it looks fabulous in every way!!! Beautiful Mother's Day card!!!
