My family and I were in Japan when my sweet friend Gail aka mamaxsix was Queen. We were blessed to visit several castles and temples during the sakura (cherry blossom) bloom. The juxtaposition of beautiful natural settings with over the top ornate decoration inside the open-air buildings stayed with me. I PM'd Gail and promised to make a card with Japanese influences but as you can see I am quite a slacker...
I feel as though I have a lot in common with Gail. In addition to loving this hobby, we clearly both love children and both love serving the Lord. She is someone I hope to meet IRL some day! Until then, she just needs to know how much I admire her work and her spirit. I chose to CASE this card: Joyful Patient Faithful by mamaxsix at Splitcoaststampers
Stamped the Pink Cat Studio pagoda in Versamark on some handmade paper I purchased at the Paper Village (DS took us to make paper, watch traditional paper making and to see the shrine to the Shinto paper goddess - totally WOW). Gold embossed the image. Fashioned a frame from overlapping Nestie Fleur de Lis squares sprayed with Krylon 18 KT and popped on ZVA 5mm pop dots. Folded and inked a scrap of brown CS, then snipped tiny branched stems into each side. Added the sakura, each one smooched and centered with liquid pearls. PT - 28
Thank you so much for looking. Have a peaceful day.
