One of my goals as a stamper and artist is to willfully NOT have a specific style. I want people to look at my gallery and see lots of different styles. I tend to be that way in life too: I like lots of different things. I don't do 'pretty' very often but if there is one thing that I love that is 'pretty', it's Jane Austen. I worship the woman! I've read all the books many times, own many of the different versions of the film productions and never tire of her humor and the style. However I would not want to be a woman living in her time (I'd probably be a servant)! So, to that end, I had to have this set with all the Austen images and quotes. It's rather too pale for a photo, looks better in real life (as most art does). I wanted it to be very soft, just like the fabrics of the dresses they wore at that time.

This is a lovely style you have picked for this weeks card sketch. Very well done.

My daughter and I also love the works of Jane Austen. My daughter reads and I watch the movies. You have honored Jane in a wonderful proficient way! Lady de burgh would even love your work.

I can so relate to what you are saying about style and Jane Austen. I'd probably have been the upstairs maid, though naughty indeed!!! love what you've done here with a cool set of stamps. Keep bringing it, 'k?
