 | | My inspiration for this challenge was a dress featuring ombre (I know this term because I watch Project Runway!) http://www.liberty.co.uk/fcp/product...In-Light/67625 that really spoke Fall to me. The HYCCT challenge was to be inspired by your "happy place" Really, for me, that's home surrounded by family, but I also really love Fall: leaves, sweaters, hot cider, and soup! All really comforting things.
I embossed the trees that I stamped in Very Vanilla craft ink with clear ep then proceeded to brayer over that. I still need some work on my brayering skills, but I liked the variations for this particular application so I was good with how it turned out. I sponged some Early Espresso over the tree to make it stand out more. I distressed my edges and added a layered twill/hemp accent. This was layered over a frame of Soft Suede that I'd used the Distressed Texturz plate inked with Soft Suede to add a wood grain to. These edges were distressed also and then all were attached to my More Mustard base. I like this so much I think I'm going to run down and make a few more while all the stuff is still out! |
