Created a background using the Wrinkle-Free Distress Technique and then spray on some Glimmer Mist and Color Wash, which gave it a wonderful shimmer even if you cannot see it in the picture. I did use scraps of mahogany veneer from my DH for the main piece of paper, which is appropriate as this card is for my Dad and he is a woodworker. My CARL roller trimmer did a great job cutting it which impressed my DH! I also created the frame for the happy Birthday with the veneer. The spellbinders did cut it fine although I did need to sand the edges with a nail file, which made me smile.
