Photo Details
Poster: Broom

Todays challenge to use paint was just the push I needed to get out some Twinkling H2O's and my brand new background stamp. Not sure why, but I decided to apply the paint directly to the rubber, then stamped it on Shimmer White cardstock that had been misted with water. After it dried, I filled in the bare spots and added some highlights. I had outlined the image with Copics, but didn't like the way it looked, so I cut out the sunflower and glued it on Tempting Turquoise before running it through the plaid EF.

This is also a CASE of Jenna Barber's awesome Sunflower card. I was looking for an idea for embellishing mine, and really liked what she did on hers. The QFTD challenge this week is to pick your own Queen, or catch up on the challenges you have missed. How cool is that... now I only have seven more to catch up on! LOL

As for back to school... I need to go back and retake Stamping 101. In my haste to get started today, I peeled the paper off my new stamp and stuck it to the acrylic block. OOPS... it's not a clear mount stamp. Took forever to remove it, and I'm still tying to clean the block.

Hats off to you for this gorgeous card. I have several times tried inking a stamp with H2Os over the years, and I've never got anything that I could use. With the texture that you've added this reminds me somewhat of Van Gogh.
Ouch on cleaning the block. I'll admit to sometimes being lazy and not mounting stamps I'm not going to use much, but even after sticking them on my hands several times I know that they make a mess of the block.

Very pretty card. I like your painting. I've never used Twinkling H20 but it has a nice effect, as does the embossing. GOOEY: I use Goo Gone to remove all sticky things. It has never failed me.

I like how you embossed the entire card -- it really makes your sunflower special. Nice tribute to Jenna.
