For the third part of the CAS Fall Design Team tryouts, we've been asked to make a card inspired by the word "boo". I love puns, so the idea of something along the lines of "hey there, boo-tiful" popped into my head really quickly.
The only ghost stamp I have is pretty small, so I hand drew the ghost for this card. After I cut it out, I edged it with a dark brown marker. The sentiment was created with the smallest set of unmounted alphabet stamps I own. I had to stamp each letter individually so I could squoosh them close enough to fit on the card. The hyphen is just part of the exclamation point from the set. I considered using wiggle eyes for the ghost, but felt that the half pearls were a bit more elegant and tied in better with the pun on beautiful.
I had a hard time getting the lighting good for my photo. We have a lot of cloud cover today due to Hurricane Irene. I was able to use my photo editing software to tweak it enough to make the card base white again, but I hope you can see the texture in the cardstock used for the card base and the ghost. The ghost is attached with dimensional adhesive but I'm not sure the lighting picked up the shadow from that.
Thanks for taking a closer look at my card! Comments are welcome. Best of luck to all the other competitors for the design team!
