Sooooo, it has been really hot here and we have had hundreds of thousands of acres burn! Not good news at all, but see these little forest creatures! They made it out and posed for a shot! hee hee hee Well, forest fires are HOT, so I am hoping this will get past the challenge police.
This is a brand new set just released from Mark's Finest Papers called Forest Gifts. I stamped the image iwth brown ink onto vanilla card stock and then sponged the edges. Does it look like the haze of smoke? Ewwww, I just thought of that. Then I embossed a piece of caramel colored cs with the woodgrain folder and inked just the embossed part with the brown ink. That is mounted onto the card front which had the plaid cs attached to it before embossing with the same woodgrain folder on the top - leaving about an inch on the bottom where the sentiment is stamped. I added some jute around the top of the card with the cute little owl charm.

Normally we think of the forest as a place to escape to from the heat but the opposite for the AZ fauna. Karen, what a peaceful sweet and very beautiful card! Thank you for sharing.

What a fantastic card! What an adorable set! I'm so sorry to hear of all the acres being burned. This has been a strange year. We had flooding first and now are needing rain. From one extreme to another!

LOL Karen. You really ran off with today's challenge. I love the way you can think outside the box. :-) Great card with so much texture. I love the brown on brown, tone on tone theme. Beautiful card. Hope things cool off for you, but I know they won't any time soon. Perhaps a trip to Nebraska would be in order to escape some of the heat? TFS
