Our TSC for this week was to do a christmas card with 3 layers, embellishment(s) and non traditional christmas colors; oh, and we had to emboss and use a die....whew. Michelle Zindorf did a couple of tutorials recently that I tried but using what stamps and inks I had. This snowman & sentiment was a dollar stamp from Mikeals and the swirl is a Stampabilities. The snowflakes are StampinUp. I stamped the snowman with Black Soot and embossed with clear EP. Colored him with markers and then a VersaMark Pen and then embossed all of him with clear EP. Tore a Post-It-Note to mask the horizon and sponged Bashful Blue, then Buckaroo Blue for the sky. Sponged Pumpkin Pie around the Snowman to hi-light him. Using the other half of the torn Post-It-Note I sponged Bashful Blue only along the torn edge (as instructed by Michelle Zindorf's tutorial) to make the snow drifts, moving it down and side to side in such a way that pleased my eye. I stamped the swirl in the sky with Buckaroo Blue and then stamped the snowflakes with white. I'm not sure why but my snow flakes never stamp crisp and sharp. I don't know if it's the ink or that I'm not stamping properly????? I mounted the image panel onto a scrap piece of pumpkin pie CS; layer one. Layer two was a scrap piece of DP that reminded me of drifting snowflakes. Layer 3 was the rectangular Nestie die out of another scrap of blue CS and layer 4 was the card base out of a recycled card. I hi=lighted the swirls with a white gel pen. My embellishments are the two sparkley snowflake brads. My thanks to Michelle Zindorf for her fantastic talent and willingness to share it with us.

Tater,
Your card is really pretty - loving the blue and your lovely scene is wonderful. Your sponging turned out really awesome and your cute little snowman tops it off. Your sparkly snowfalkes look great on either side of the little guy!

Awww, sweet Tater Tot!!!
I love it when you pull out all the stops and do a Zindorf special for us - I am guessing you went to one of her classes, and seeing how great this and other cards you have used her brayering technique on, you are on your way to receiving your Master's degree in Brayering!!
Love your "hills of snow" and how you used the flourish to mimic the wind blowing in the snowflakes - awesome card, Tate!! lymi!
