The cactus was colored with Prismacolor pencils (dark green, olive green, lime peel, lemon yellow, pale vermillion, black) and heat embossed with clear powder using a VersaMark pen for ink. This was to create a mask.
Torn paper was used to mask off the panel and all colors were sponged on. If any white areas showed after removing the mask and cotton swab and the like color ink was used to fill in the space with color.
-My set up for sponging is to place the open ink pad on bumpy plastic shelf liner which you can find at most dollar stores; this is to avoid it from moving during the inking process. Now place the panel your sponging onto within six inches of the ink pad; I place it on a full sheet of scrap paper. With a very rapid motion I touch the ink pad then the cardstock and continue until the color is dark enough. When I say rapid I am talking very, very fast! And itÂ’s done in no time at all! Everyone thinks this takes so much time but is one of the quickest techniques I do.
Stampin Up photo corners punch was used to cut the triangles and the mat pack from SU was used as a guide for the piercing.
Sharpie markers were used to fill any white space created by the embossing powder.
This is one of my favorite type of cards to create and the procedure goes very quick for me.
