It seems creating scenes on cards is where my energy goes the best. This week's TSC was to create a card using what ever reminded us of rain. One of my childhood memories is playing in the rain. Running up and down the neighborhood sidewalks splashing and seeing how many "bloodsuckers" (worms) we could squash. There was this big house surrounded by an Iron fence with beautifully manicured landscaping. It always looked so mysterious to us as kids. Although I never got a chance to go in that house, on rainy days, my mind goes back to those days of yore when rain always seemed to wash things and make them fresh again. I used a stamp set from CHF and an EK border punch to make the wrought iron fence in the foreground. Some copics to color the house and Distress Ink and SU ink and sponges to create clouds and a gray day. I tired to create rain by using a black pen and ruler and drawing diagonal broken lines across the scene and intermitently stamping rain drops.

It was a dark and stormy night.....Tater, I love how you make the scene girl! And, a story to boot- how cool is that? Your gate is so perfect to frame this up my friend. Your house looks so beautiful and I wanna sit under that tree! Hope Texas gets enough rain to make everything clean and fresh! Thanks for a fun challenge. I'll be back later! Hugs, lymi!

WOW, Tater, this dream card is a wish I know your heart is making - for tons of rain to hit Texas to dispel the fire threat!!
Your stormy scene is just perfect, and I know you would love to be curled up in the 'parlor' relaxing and enjoying listening to those BIG raindrops falling!! Love those dark clouds and rain and how you recreated the wrought iron fence of your memory!! Awesome card - now I am gonna go do a RAIN DANCE for you!!
AND go finish my card too!! Back soon!! lymi!

What a great rainy scene that you've created. It matches your childhood memory very well. I can see this being easily adapted into a Halloween card too.

Oh Tater, that is just what it looks like here! Love that fence and the clouds and landscape that goes on into the distance. There is a house like that near here too.

Wow Tater what a wonderful scene you created. I like how you did the rain. I'm going to have to remember that technique. I love the house and the tree. Actually I think this is an awesome card. I like everything about it. Lovely!

Awesome scene, Tater! Sharing your memory as a child brought back the same ones for me - playing in the puddles, riding bikes through the puddles! I love the smell of everything after it rains.
