Another one for parknslide. Really happy with how it turned out. Partially because I love the look of Sashiko and it's been a loooooong time since I did any. In fact, took a whole episode of Glee for me to finally get in the flow.
Simple fabric base with some fused on accents. Sashiko in white embroidery floss. I sort of cheated on the flowers themselves and merely printed them on fusible fabric. I just knew I would not be able to acheive the detail I craved at that miniature size. Actually looks pretty good. Finished with a beaded blanket stitch.
I like this one so much I'd like to make a "full-size" version.

I love it---so happy that it's coming to live with me. The beaded blanket stitch is a perfect accent. I love Sashiko too---wish I had taken some classes when I lived in HI, it's a very popular craft there.
