I may have to go back to our other house tomorrow, so I was trying to get some more challenge cards done (boo hoo), IÂ’ll miss playing with my toys, but itÂ’s snowing now, so maybe I can play another day (fingers and toes are crossed).
This is for a sketch challenge over at Stamp TV, what a fiasco with this card!! I decided to use the little kitten in the GKD Purrr-fectly Delightful set by Theresa Momber. I stamped it on white paper, colored it with prismacolored pencils and goo gone (the pencil that matches SUÂ’s more mustard) then I went in search of some dp with butterflies, I found the reddish/pink piece in a DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies stack, it has light blue butterflies, so I stamped the butterflies in versamark and used pastel blue ep. Well, I decided instead of using white, I would use some of my silver foil cardstock stash. I cut the two pieces to size, then cut them diagonally. To my amazement, I donÂ’t know if I was sleeping or what, they totally did not make a rectangle when I was done, I came up with some new shape. So I started all over again with two more pieces and stayed awake, to make sure I got it right this time. Since I didnÂ’t use the white, I needed another layer, what to do, what to do? I decided on black. I cut that to size, grabbed up my pieces to see how it was gonna look, and low and behold, I have lost my main image. I knew it was there somewhere in my work space, that was getting smaller, by the minute, as I dragged each new item to work with, to that little space. I had it just a minute ago, and hadnÂ’t gone anywhere since getting up to get the dp, and I had it then. At last, there it was, but so what, a yellow cat wasnÂ’t gonna get it with these colors. So I stamped, colored, and cut out a new image, this time making it gray. I have been giving my kittens blue eyes, so for a switch both of these has green eyes, done with green and black glaze pens, and a dot of white with a gel pen. I also gave the kitten some green to play on that matches the green butterflies on the dp, which was a waste of time, cause they got covered up, but thatÂ’s ok. When I ran the image through the cuttlebug with the circle nestie, I decided to add a black ring, nobody told me to make sure your fingers are out of the way, while doing this, but then that is why they make brads, isnÂ’t it? I used a butterfly brad to cover up my goof up. I cut the scalloped circle in black, then added a plain light blue circle, because the black got lost in the silver. Since the DCWV dp had swirls to it, I decided to run both sheets through the cuttlebug with the divine swirls folder. Then I used metallic rub (gun metal) on the silver foil. I used the sentiment from the same set, stamped in versamark and embossed with detail silver ep, cut out with a spellbinders ribbon tag trio die, ran a light blue ribbon through it and attached. The base card is also light blue. Thanks for looking and any comments.
