This is for the newsprint background challenge over at Stamp TV today. I was so excited when I saw what the challenge was today, I have been wanting to try it, and just haven't gotten around to it, so it's now or never. I'm glad this card turned out, I really like it, the other card I submitted I don't care for, but I got to try this technique anyway, so that is a plus, I followed Gina's instructions very carefully, even used the same colors of distress inks.
I was thinking cutting the newspaper and attaching it to the layer was going to be the hardest part, it was really easy. Figuring what to do was the hard part. I scanned through the paper and found guns for sale, then I new what to do. I cut out the columns, sponged with tattered rose, tea dye & vintage photo, attached the layer to the newsprint, took a base card of white sponged the edges. I picked up my nesties filmstrip die cut a piece of black, cut a piece of white stamped a lot of deer, the white really through it off, so I had to add more white, I chose the white ribbon, then as an afterthought I attached a strip of black ribbon also. I stamped the sentiment on a leftover block out of the filmstrip. Grabbed a deer & rifle brad out of my stash and slapped this al together. Thanks for looking and any comments.
