We have had loads of snow in the past week - more than 50 cm which is over twice the average for the whole month of November. This has put me not quite in Christmas mood but definitely in winter mode. (Getting stuck twice in 2 days hammered home the fact that winter is really here too). So my card has a winter feel. I've had the stamp forever but don't think I've ever used it. The background paper is handmade & left over from what I used to make Christmas cards years ago. There are cedar sprigs embedded in the paper & a very fine, barely visible glitter that looks like snow on it.
This card is going to my sister-in-law whose husband passed away a couple of months ago. This is a difficult advent season for her & her children. My brother-in-law was such a vibrant part of all our lives.

Your SIL will love this card, and your thoughtfulness, Pretty card...Just perfect for this week's challenge. We've only had sleet so far, and I am NOT looking forward to snow! If I didn't have to drive in it, I may not mind it as much...smile...

What a serene card with such pretty bg paper - your SIL will appreciate it - sorry for her loss. It will be a difficult time of the year.
We kind of enjoy photos of winter on TV - and we are complaining because it has been very chilly in AZ - our thermometer says 29 this a.m. Brrr...

It's certainly going to be difficult for your SIL and her family - the first Christmas. I am sure she will really appreciate this. I like the cedar paper - perfect setting for the cardinal.

How hard for them to deal with the loss at Christmas time. What a lovely card to send to her!
