I was thrilled and amazed when my card was selected as a winner for Round 1 of the Winter CAS design team challenges. It wasn't that many years ago when I was simply CASEing other people's cards!!
When I saw the challenge for Round 2, I knew immediately what I wanted to do. Then I started second guessing myself and I spent three days playing with other ideas. Because I was trying to "force" those cards instead of doing what I truly wanted to do, I didn't love any of them.
The problem was that the title of the challenge is Crazy Relative - and this card definitely does NOT fit that title. I went back and carefully read the requirements and basically the only requirement was to use a family title on your card. I realized that this card would fit and only ten minutes later, I had my challenge card!
This is a card that I have planned to do for a year and I am so glad this challenge finally "convinced" me to get it done. See my new blog for the meaning behind this card.

This came out beautiful! I love the subtle embossing around the edge of the card and the green foliage goes so well with the cardstock. The pop of red with the butterfly is perfect!

Way to go! Glad you went with your instincts on this. It is truly lovely. I made it to round 2, also, and am currently putting my submission together. And I've been fretting and throwing ideas into the trash, so we'll see how it *really* turns out! Good luck!!

This is a wonderful card...both the design and the heart behind it. Visited your blog and discovered that you are a "neighbor"! (anyone in eastern CO is a neighbor by my definition!) So, "howdy, neighbor!"
