After all the irises I picked my way through this morning over breakfast, I decided NOT to get out my iris stamp which I had only just put away, and to provide one of the shady trees Cindy talked about that line Route 88 on the way to Evelyn.
(I might send Evelyn my iris card from the weekend rather than this one - we shall see...)
Base is 5 3/4" square.
Mat layer is white card sponged with Shabby Shutters, edges sponged with Peeled Paint.
Image panel is 5 1/8" square. I stamped the trunk with Brilliance Chocolate and the leaves with Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint distress inks. Then I dusted the background with chalk pastels, masking off a couple of clouds, sprayed with fixative and stamped Daisy Field with Versafine Olympia Green. I used Sakura Glaze pens to colour the little daisies.
Flowers and birds were stamped using markers, cut out and popped up on foam, with tiny gems in the flower centres.
I'll trade some of my Sour Cream Apple Squares for some of Cindy's pumpkin cookies if there are any left. And 88 deserves a pretty special birthday cake - I've made my coffee meringue gateau .

I always seem to read your comments when I'm hungry or at least I'm hungry everytime I read your comments. I have a sweet tooth and your baking sounds mouth watering. Send the tree, it is beautiful and something different than irises. You always do such a great job on these challenges.

How do you cook all that fancy stuff? If I can say it correctly, I surely can't bake it correctly! Snort! But I am afraid I ate all the pumpkin cookies...hey, I been hanging in the back all day today! But I will have some more made up as soon as we catch a ride....get your thumb up Sabrina.....
So glad you brought a tree! Woot! This is so precious....its just the perfect shade tree to follow us teapotters down the road and when we get to Mass. we can plant it smack dab in the middle of our destination! I think she would love this and I think she would love an iris card from you, either way, Evelyn would be tickled! Awesome, awesome card. Everytime I see you I think about if I posted the sneak peak! I think I forgot again!
Okay, you have a teapotter job now Sabrina! Send me a reminder when I am forgetting! Yikes!!!!!
