Deboss Emboss Wedding
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: Kathy LeDonne

This card was made for a swap I'm in. We had to make a card using a new technique. I learned this technique at a stamp expo this summer, but hadn't had a chance to try it yet. This technique requires embossing in an embossin folder and inking the back side of this piece with a light color ink. You take that piece as the front now and run it through the same or a different folder several times to flatten out the original embossing and add the new one. Ink this one on the front with a darker ink. I then sponged on some white shimmer paint and cut the embossed roses out. I mounted this onto some layers and added a couple of half pearls, ribbon and greetings.

Hi Kathy!
You certainly are the talented lady who "forces" me to sign in and comment - What a fantastic method. Keeping the colors tone-in-tone is elegant, but I'll bet for a childs card using complementary colors would also look great. For Christmas I could imagine a green first emboss using one of the many holly leaves or one of the new Sizzix Christmas folders and then going over it in red with one of the new cuttlebug folders that came out about the same time as the Manhatten Rose you used here.
I love the little pearl you added in the center! Thanks so much for sharing this great technique, I can't wait to try it myself. I still have to get to the Edeweiss card I promised.
(Actually, I am just taking a stolen moment before getting back to maintenance on my sewing machine. It's over 45 years old and works like a charm when you give it the necessary tender loving care.)
Thanks again for posting this lovely card! And keep the creative energies flowing.

Best wishes from Patricia
