Thanks Wendy for a really fun Friday challenge, and I hope you got all that last minute baking done! I loved your flap it to me...so many ways one could interpret this call. I love matchbook flaps, purse flaps, and even those neat magnetic flaps you find on journals. But in the end, I simply had to use my envelope flapped stamp that a dear friend gave me long ago. It even shows a bit of a letter addressed to a SUSAN!
I can't quite remember the first time I saw the SU set Friendship's Journey used in the galleries...but it was way after it had been retired. I loved the vintage feel and perfect collaged main image. AND had to have it...anybody know what I mean??? So I took advantage of the super resource here on SCS, the Buy/Sell board.
For today's design, I stamped onto white cs with VersaFine Sepia and then again onto acetate with Stazon Timber Brown. I superimposed the acetate and stapled with copper colored staples. This gives depth to the image. The Vintage Letter by stampstudioinc.com (out of business) was inked with the sepia and stamped onto distress looking DP. I stamped again and popped on dimensionals to create the really flapped look. The writing pen and bottle of ink are part of a set of unmounteds from Invoke Arts. I used VersaColor Black and embossed with clear. I then colored with Copics. The fiddley bits of flowers and leaves were part of my stash. For the DP, it was a piece from the Basic Grey Ambrosia collection and the bit of trim a Making Memories, I think.
Happy Friday, all. I have a three day weekend, all my boys are off doing their appointed task and the house is quite. I should vacuum or cool, or some such thing, but will I???? Thanks for your comments.
I have this stamp set and love it! Thanks for doing this card and putting into the gallery. It inspires me to use it again.
And did I say, I love your card! And what a neat way to work in that flap! TFS

This is a beautiful collage card. I know what you mean about wanting a stamp set long after it had retired. I took advantage of a blog sale to buy both Stipple Butterfly and Garden Collage. I don't see them too much in the galleries anymore, but I love them both.
