I created this card for WT284 - Versamark Challenge. I created it by using the Faux Bleaching with Alcohol Inks, and you can see the great tutorial by Sherry here:
I have never used alcohol inks and I've never done any faux bleaching before. Was really a challenge, because until my glossy cardstock came in (I had to special order because no store in our area carried it), I tried doing on glossy photo paper. DO NOT USE photo paper - it bubbles up when you try ironing. That was a DISASTER. So I had to be patient, and as soon as my cardstock came in - I was off to my craft area giving it a try.
In the tutorial, Sherry used a bird image, and I loved it so much, I had to use mine. Why, because I had two embossing folders that went along with this image perfectly. Because I never used alcohol inks before, I took a chance on the colors I chose blending fairly well together.
For the image that I versamarked and heat embossed, I used a Floral Silhouette by Stampabilities. The Bird Silhouette is also by Stampabilities. I added purple rhinestones in upper right corner, and a purple flower in lower left, to bring out the purple in the image.
This is a technique I will definitely use in the future (now that I have the correct cardstock

Oh Barbie - sounds like you went through a lot to make this card - but it was definitely worthwhile because your final result is BREATHBAKING. Such a vibrant backdrop to the bird image - and the added purple flower and gems were the perfect touch!!!
