This is for AmberDawn's and Kim's challenges.
5 3/4" square base.
Papers are all Basic Grey Basics Kraft. Base layer has edges distressed and a swirl stamped round the edges. Next layer is embossed with Floral Fantasy and wiped with Vintage Photo, edges also distressed and sponged. The strip is some dry wall mesh (been looking for that for months, ever since we needed it for a TLC and I didn't have it. I finally found it in a hardware store next to DH's office when I was meeting him there on Friday to go away for the weekend), inked and embossed with gold.
The flower is Sizzix Flower Layers #2, 3 layers of petals separated with foam dots. I stamped a Hero Arts script stamp in black and then sponged with Weathered Wood, Antique Linen and Vintage Photo, then wiped with Versamark and embossed with one layer of UTEE. The centre is gold microbeads on a circle of double-sided adhesive. Computer generated sentiment with edges sponged, and a brown button with some gold twine. I went for a sentiment that wouldn't limit this to birthdays, it could be a just because card equally well.

Love the monochromatic tones and all of that fabulous texture! I'm a texture kind of gal myself so this is right up my alley! Thanks so much for playing along with us
