Congratulations to Cook22 / Sabrina on being this week's Queen, QFTD17! I was quite taken with her 'Bird in Flowers' creation, and simply was bound to work from her inspiration. I've used embossing resist, using a wash of Distress Inks + water. All stamps are from Rubbernecker. Why 'friends'?? I was an "only" adopted child. To this very day, I have life-long friends, cousins, plus other long-time friends who are so much like siblings to me, that I've always felt eternally blessed. This was actually fostered by my Dad ... who so lovingly explained that my cousins and friends were just as special as others' sisters/brothers. Daddy was oh so right ... and I am still so blessed by them!

What a gorgeous CASE you've done on Sabrina's pretty card! I love the colors you chose and the resist background is just stunning! I love how the swirls and flourishes wrap around the sentiment along with the butterflies! Beautiful!!

Oh, I love the colours on this, and that so-lovely resist background. Love the butterflies perching on the swirls, too - especially that one with the sparkly layer.

I've never done the resist technique ~ I've always left that up to the professionals! It just captures my attention like no tomorrow. Tex, when I grow up, I want to be just like you. What a wonderful story about growing up with your dad. Just wondering...one of the times we've talked you mentioned a certain situation ... has that changed? You are so talented.

Sounds like your Dad was a very special man - to teach you one of life's best lessons! Friends are truly angels in our lives, and this card is a beautiful expression of friendship!! You did a wonderful case of Cook 22's card and I especially love your purple and green together in the washed BG and the embossing is superb! TFS
