Bertie and I had a rough day at work today. We got so mad at one point, we just wanted to spit nails. Instead, we came home and found some peace and relaxation in our stampin' room and thought it best to hook up with our teaparty lovin' friends who always make us smile and make the day brighter.
I know some of the tea partiers probably thought Bertie would be flingin' 42,000 pencils in honor of today's adventure (get the full story here: Forums at Splitcoaststampers, but we decided to go a different direction. We thought it might be fun to have a watermelon and cherry seed spittin' contest on the back of the bus. Our target? Why, that big ol' belly on Gus the bus driver! First one to get 42,000 seeds stuck to his belly wins the overstock supply of pencils that Lorraine mistakenly ordered for her school. Poor Lorraine. I bet those kids have been drivin' her crazy.
The cherry image was stamped, colored with Copic marker, cut out and Crystal Effects applied for their shine. The watermelon slices were made with circle punches; the seeds were edges I cut off of the middle flower from the boho blossoms punch.
I'm getting low on some of my favorite dp with these cherries, so I cut out a 1/4" frame to adhere to my red cardstock to help preserve some of it in my supply.
Mudder? Is that you? OMG, you're here? Woo-hoo! Hey, I done heard that Patricia Rose done brung us some special tea. I shore could use some 'bout now. Know what else? I always thought it'd be fun to drive a school bus; can I kick Gus outta his seat and drive it for a while? Huh? Pretty please with.....wait for it.....a CHERRY on top?!?!?

Oh Charlene, a seed spitting contest...what fun! Plus it's much safer than flingin pencils with points on them. hehe Sorry you had a rough day. Don't you just hate that? Glad you could find some peace, it shows in your card as long as your don't read the part about spittin n all. hehe This card rocks! Love the brightness to it. Wonderful job and story. TFS :0)

Hey, Charlene, I love cherries and I love your card... they look so realistic! May I sit next to you please? Besides, if you and Bertie are spittin' seeds, I'd like to join in rather than become a "victim"!!!!!

Okay, so I get home from a long day at work, sit down with my laptop to a bunch of teaparty complaints! It seems a certain teapotter has been spittin' at people! She claims to be the best cherry pit spitter on the bus...now just who could that be Charlene......Where is Bertie and what is that big pile of pits in the back of the bus????
As far as driving the bus......go for it girlfriend. Have you noticed that our scenery has not changed? It seems Lee didn't leave the key! If you can get this bus moving, I will let Bertie spit to her hearts content! Snort!
You are a goofball......whether you are spitting or flinging! Love your card.....and it could be somewhat normal, know what I mean????
Okay, alright already! Bertie...Gertie wants me to tell ya that the only way she will enter the contest is if she gets dibs on Avocado pits! She's going for a knock-out!!

wow...looks like I could pick those cherries right off the page and enjoy them......what a bright and cheery creation...but I really wouldn't waster watermelon and cherries by flinging them....really, Bertie...they are a thing of 'taste'......fresh and juicy......for eatin' not fer yer flingin'

Well, spittin cherry pits is better than spittin' nails any day...so glad you decided to stamp instead...cuz how else could we see this purty creation? I love the bright red cherries and little tiny watermelons...if I had these kind of cherries I think I'd want to make a cherry pie...
If you drive the bus, I want a seatbelt!

Oh yum! Now a seed-spitting contest will be so much fun! I was a little worried about flinging pencils. You know how prepared these girls are. I'm sure they'd be bringing sharpened pencils. Good thing the ones I ordered don't come sharpened. Or maybe not. Oh well, gotta say that I didn't hide them well enough. Gotta break it to the boss tomorrow. Hope he gets a good laugh. But let me say this card is so cute and your story is wonderful!
